How Marlow works
Marlow is a worksheet, not a person and not a quote engine. It only changes its answer when the country, the Australian state, the pest or the building would change the public rule it can point at.
What it will say
- In the United States, licensing is by state. The US EPA says to ask for the licence and to get several estimates.
- In New South Wales, Western Australia and South Australia, it points at the state page that says who issues the licence.
- For any other Australian state, it says the rule was not checked and it will not invent an agency.
- A written quote should name the pest, the active ingredients, the timing, re-entry, the licence and the guarantee. That list is from University of Missouri Extension.
What it will not say
- A dollar figure, a per-treatment average, or a "typical" price.
- That a named company is good, licensed, or available near you.
- That a spray is safe for a child, a pet or a pregnancy. Ask the technician for the label and, if someone is unwell, a doctor.
- A rule for a state whose page was not opened for this version.
The pages behind those lines are linked from the checklist itself. If a page changes, the checklist is wrong until it is edited. The sources were read on 29 October 2026.
