Termite quotes and the per-gallon warning

Ask for an inspection that is about termites or timber pests, not only a general spray. The US EPA tells people to beware of a price quoted per gallon, because a termite treatment can use a large volume of diluted insecticide. It also says to beware of a secret formula. Registered labels list the active ingredients.

That warning is from the US EPA page on selecting a pest control service. It is not a fee, and this site does not turn it into one.

In New South Wales, the EPA says a pest management technician licence currently still allows commercial termite treatments while a separate timber pest licence is phased in. That sentence is about NSW. It is not a rule for other Australian states. Confirm the licence type on the NSW EPA page before you treat it as permission.
